| Watchwords dear and necessary for the proper Christian warrior: Those ingredients and Christian LOVE are essential to one another because true love is impossible for those to whom principles mean little. Mastery of the Bible produces knowledge. Knowledge is often accompanied by pride. Add to knowledge obedient works (experience) and you get understanding. Understanding leads to temperance. Add to understanding time and you get wisdom. Wisdom leads to humility. Understanding and wisdom, in turn, combine with your observations of life on this planet to produce increasing confidence, certainty, and thankfulness that your faith in the absolute veracity of the word of God is not misplaced. The above doesn't make the war easier, but it sure makes it clear that there is no worthwhile alternative to absolute obedience to the omniscient authority of Almighty God. The above help produce the fidelity, discipline, and dependability of the Christian warrior. |
