| “As a pastor of a Bible-believing church I have read AOR with joy, sorrow, anger, repentance, thankfulness, and maybe some other emotions. After finishing the second read thru…I suspect that I feel how Peter must have felt when Paul shows up in Acts 15 to teach him the gospel 14+ years after he'd watched the Lord ascend: Peter knew it was the truth.” (Testimonial about AOR.) |
DOES GOD BLAME US IF WE HAVE BAD PREACHERS?
It has been the same in every era of apostasy: The only
Christians able to escape widespread popular-but-blinding traditional doctrinal
leaven within their churches have been the faithful who had the belief and
strength to apply what the Bible says, which enabled them to think outside the pew. And the only way to distinguish between
kooky cultists and separated preachers of righteousness has been, again, to apply what the Bible says. Today
the church has – like it did at the time of the First Coming – gotten so apostate that to be affiliated with any denomination is to
be linked with apostasy. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye
separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean
thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be
my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty (2 Cor 6:17,18).
If we don’t know the Bible and therefore can’t spot doctrinal
apostasy and stop listening to doctrinally-incorrect preachers, won’t God
punish the bad preachers for their
unscriptural sermons – not us?
“Then the LORD said unto me,
The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not:
They prophesy unto you the deceit of
their heart.
By sword and famine shall those
prophets be consumed.”
OK, we’d expect that. But get a load of this:
“And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out.”
When the Lord told us to learn His Book, we decided that took
too much work. And when God told us to trust Him to open our understanding as
we studied His word, we decided that took too much faith.
So we decided to put our trust in flesh-and-blood preachers to
spoon-feed us and teach us correct doctrine…just
like the theology-trained Pharisees and Sadducees did their pewsters!
Big mistake. Huge.
