The Age of Aquinas (1300 - 2nd Coming)

Aquinas had a massive impact on Christianity: Augustine had been exposed as intellectually pedestrian, which threatened the continued existence of the Catholic Church.  So Aquinas formally blended Greek philosophy with Catholic doctrine, which made Greek philosophy-based Reason (theology) become “Christian”, and Reason quickly displaced Scripture as the foundation of Catholicism...as well as all of Western civilization.
