The Age of Aquinas (1300 - 2nd Coming)

Aquinas had a massive impact on Christianity, in part because Augustine had been exposed as intellectually pedestrian, which threatened the continued existence of the Catholic Church.  So Aquinas formally blended Greek philosophy with Catholic doctrine, which made Greek philosophy-based Reason (theology) become “Christian”, and Reason quickly displaced Scripture as the foundation of Catholicism...as well as all of Western civilization.
