Chapter H1
Lucifer's Rebellion

The War on the Word is intended to inform, strengthen, and exhort you Bible-believing Christians so you can resist the pressures and leaven of the “sophisticated” modern world.
The War on the Word (WOW) is a history of the Bible, and a defense of the Bible and of the inerrancy of the King James Bible. I originally intended this to have a different title and to be much broader in scope, partly because I like history. But the detail I’d have to go into would make it too lengthy, and the accelerating anti-Bible events all around the world convinced me that it was more important to show how the Bible’s inerrancy has always emerged unscathed when scholars and theologians confidently declared various things to be wrong. Therefore, this work morphed into a defense of the truth, the authority, and the necessity of the Bible by showing how the word of God has always been there for us in ways that were best for us. I also included some things I accumulated over time in my notes that may be a bit off topic, but I hope overall you’ll find WOW to be interesting, informative, helpful, and exhortive. “Progress” in our modern world – convenient though it may be – has proven to be like leaven; it’s beyond our power to resist unless we faithfully adhere to God’s literal Instructions. Two sad facts of modern “churchianity” (sad because they were and are avoidable) are the widespread acceptance of theology and modern Bible versions. As you learned in The Age of Reason Bible Study, theology is based on Reason even though Reason is the opposite of faith, and theology wants us to replace our faith in the literal word of God with the Devil’s Reason-based skepticism when he asked Eve’s opinion about “How can knowing good and evil be bad?” Theology uses textual criticism and modern error-filled Bible versions to tempt modern pride-filled Eves into trusting what Self thinks/guesses is right and good rather than humbly and obediently submitting to the literal written word of God. Oh, how full of well-intentioned Eves the church has become! We are being led more and more astray by Reason, but our Good Shepherd, in order to strengthen our faith, has given us the crutch we need to guide our walks – the inerrant King James Bible. The KJV’s inerrancy over the last 4 centuries has edified and entertained Bible believers by giving us the nurturing reassurance of watching unbelievers stumble around trying to find an error, any error, in the KJV...but they have always failed.
And that is why the Bible version controversy –
Does the Bible live up to God’s definition of His inerrant word...or is it really “just a human translation” that needs to be constantly corrected by the oh-so-sophisticated but nevertheless ever-changing guesses of both amateurs and translation committees who, in spite of their arrogant boasting, acknowledge the embarrassing futility of their efforts by churning out “new improved” mere Bible versions every other month?
– always revolves around the King James Bible...never around any of the mere versions.

Moses, the Alphabet, the Pentateuch, and the “Original Sacred Languages”
This chapter uses interesting archeological findings to show how wrong scholars were when they said Adam and Eve never existed, and because water doesn’t flow uphill, Hezekiah, his use of the Gihon Spring as a water supply, and Christ’s healing miracle at the nonexistent Pool of Siloam they said are all pure fiction. I have inserted some physics about the universe that I find amazing from a Biblical viewpoint. Because God used Moses to write the first 5 books of the Bible (the Pentateuch), Bible schools tried to undermine the Bible by teaching young aspiring preachers that Moses never existed, that many vocabulary words in the Pentateuch didn’t exist until many centuries after the Pentateuch was supposedly written, that the earliest alphabet in history didn’t exist until centuries after the Pentateuch was written, and that, because the Hebrews were never in Egypt, all the miracles that supposedly happened there, such as the parting of the Red Sea, are nothing but the inventions of ignorant tent-dwelling shepherds…therefore the first 5 books are fraudulent. So, let’s sit back, sip on a glass of Ebla Beer (a popular brand 800 years before Moses was born), and review amazing modern-day archeological findings that show how long the war on the word has existed…and how utterly wrong unbelievers have always been about everything above. This also explains what we learn about the “original sacred languages” from historical reviews of languages God’s people used when He had them record His holy word on ancient Bible manuscripts.

War, the Great Commission, and the Manuscript Mess
This explains how Jews began exalting tradition over the word of God during the Babylonian captivity, and it details the creation of rabbis and religious and political factions. It reviews the three savage wars the Jews waged against their Roman rulers…and what happened to them, their Bible scrolls, their language, their temple, their cities, and to Judea when they lost the wars. Even though the Jews were apostate, this details how God had famous people who messed with His Jews suffer and die. It reviews the fragility of Bible manuscripts, how Christians replaced parts of their manuscripts that broke off and were lost, how quickly and easily languages change over time, and how regional variations made people who lived in different regions and spoke the same language still could not understand each other. How the big differences between the formal sophistication of the Hebrew-language OT manuscripts and the informal simplistic Koine Greek of the NT manuscripts created very real difficulties that many well-intentioned translators didn’t know about when they translated from Hebrew into Greek. When early Christians learned about the Great-Commission spreading of the gospel, they travelled far and wide to other countries if necessary so they could make copies of NT manuscripts and take them back home so they could make more copies for distribution. All of this and more contributed to the impenetrable quagmire of the “manuscript mess” that modern scholars ignore so they can continue making money selling mere Bible versions they know do not meet God’s definition of His word.

Origen’s Quest to Find the True Text and thereby End the Manuscript Mess
Origen lived in Alexandria in 200 A.D. when it was the intellectual capital of the world. He was the foremost scholar of his time, and he had access to many, many more Bible manuscripts that were closer to the time of Christ than anyone else in history. Because of the already-existing-and-getting-worse “manuscript mess,” he decided to research, compare, and contrast the manuscripts so he could publish a complete Bible manuscript in the original true text. His impressive efforts led to his being described by modern theologians as “the father of textual criticism.” This chapter shows how he went about his task…and why modern theologians don’t like talking about the fact that he found out that no matter how many of the “best” manuscripts you consult, and no matter how many layman’s aids you consult, trying to determine the True Text of the Original Autographs is a complete waste of time because there is no way to tell which readings are the original, no matter what decision-making methodology or “critical-apparatus” is used – it’s nothing but futile guesswork! Recent computer analyses have verified that Origen was absolutely correct – and modern mere-version publishers and critical-apparatus layman’s aid publishers are well aware of that fact…but most scholars and laymen don’t know any better so they keep buying the latest versions and textual aids.

Jerome and the Thousand-Year Latin Vulgate Bible
Jerome was a true, humble, impressive scholar who was fluent in “the languages” – including the dead-language Hebrew. Augustine wasn’t…and for those reasons Jerome was selected for the prestigious task of creating the Latin Vulgate Bible. Jerome moved to a rural area outside of Bethlehem to get away from the animosity of Augustine’s clique of “in-crowd” scholars. Jerome’s impressive work became the first major Bible version of the NT era…and it was THE Bible version for over 1,000 years. Jerome – like Origen before him, and like all elite scholars since – closely examined the Alexandrian Manuscripts and the Apocrypha…and rejected them. This chapter gives examples of how Jerome’s Latin Vulgate has influenced all Bible versions since.

The Masoretes, Their OT Manuscript, and the Dead Sea Scrolls
The Masoretes wanted to preserve “traditional Judaism” by creating a Hebrew-language OT even though they couldn’t speak that dead language, and even though all Jews had buried their Hebrew Bibles in their back yards because Jews now spoke Koine Greek and read Greek-language OTs. To make using the consonant-only Hebrew alphabet easier to read, the Masoretes invented their own “cheat-sheet” Hebrew alphabet. When they finally finished their OT manuscript, they shocked everybody by destroying all of the hundreds of OT manuscripts in various languages they had painstakingly bought and collected over several centuries! Other topics include the Dead Sea Scrolls, verse differences from various manuscripts, and the ongoing argument over the name “Jehovah” that erupted over the vowels the Masoretes added to YHWH.

How the End of Feudalism Helped Enslave Society
Because the anti-Bible values of the pagan Greek-philosophy-based Enlightenment (such as equality) were spread throughout Western society by Catholicism and Protestantism, it was ideologically necessary to begin badmouthing feudalism. Why? Because the very idea that people throughout history in positions of authority could be respectfully referred to as “lord” and “sir” like they are in the Bible was abhorrent to the Greek-philosophy-based idea that “all men are created equal” ...which was adopted by Western societies and religions. This long-standing social rank-based obligation to be respectfully faithful to all authorities was a duty called “fealty,” but anti-authority equality-based events such as the Enlightenment, the American Revolution, and democratic governments subverted vertical, fealty-based societies…as did the rise of money-based societies, “progress,” and the Industrial Revolutions that led to enslavement by modern technology and the Digital Age. This chapter deals with feudalism and the world-changing events that replaced feudalism with “progress.”

Chapter 7: (14 pages)
The Advent of Mere Bible Versions
The very first Bible version of the NT era, the Latin Vulgate, together with all subsequent Bible versions did much to reveal the war on the word. The Latin Vulgate Bible was opposed by Augustine because, as a non-Hebrew speaker, he resented the fact that it used Hebrew-language OTs rather than Greek translations of the Hebrew OT. When the printing press made the Vulgate available to the public, it caused people to quit the Catholic Church and start the Protestant Reformation. When Rome’s burning Bibles and people did not stop people from reading Scripture, the Vatican turned to theology, which is the same tactic Satan used against Eve when he had her use her Reason to see if she thought the forbidden fruit would really be bad for her. Theology’s anti-Bible weapon is “what-do-you-think-this-verse-should-say” Reason. Just take Reason out of theology and you’ve become a Bible believer whose read-it-and-believe-it literal interpretation makes the Bible clear and consistent…which highlights the fact that theology’s anti-faith and anti-Bible “critical apparatus” makes modern-day Eves out of its devotees. This chapter covers the Bible versions leading up to the KJV, the men who created them, and why they selected some manuscripts and rejected others. It also deals with the “manuscript mess” and with the now-lost manuscripts that contributed to those Bible versions.

The Authorized 1611 King James Bible: The Living Word of Our Living God
How the 1545 war on the word launched by the Catholic Counter Reformation almost made French the universal language of the world, almost prevented the Bible from being spread around the world, and almost made Christianity in the 1800s the shallow, pathetic joke full of doctrine-despising lightweights that it is today. This covers details about making and printing the KJV, it examples typesetter errors that are wrongly called “textual errors” of the KJV, and much more. It details why today’s anti-KJV rhetoric is wrong, and how even Bible publishers have been caught deceitfully trying to corrupt the KJV. The inerrant text of the KJV highlights the fact that the reason modern Bible versions are now published every other month is they are nothing but mere versions.
